I've been thinking doing the loop for long time, finally Gary is going to do it, so there I go.
The lake is still frozen only starts to thaw on the edge, smaller bay, or where it meets creeks.
We stopped at crow's nest lookout. Looking down the 100ft cliff face.
The narrows is much wider than summer time.
Looking at the water, can we make it? Gary and Steve make some attempts but the water is deep and fast, too dangerous for the whole group.
There is a cottage cross the bay, maybe we can find a canoe there?
Two brave volunteers decide to swim across the narrows to find a boat.
Actually 3. Darren, Alex, and Mulchy, Alex's dog.
Look at them, you know that was COLD.
Couldn't find a boat, they tried some alternatives.
A window frame and a ladder for the pool, will it make a good bridge? NO.
Without giving up, they found a piece of surfboard. Still NO. I believe they have good reasons for not giving up.
Failed all the attempts, we camped near the narrows for the night.
A bear?
Mark stepped through the ice when crossing a beaver dam.
